The three policemen, including Police Captain Hla Htay, were killed on Ye-Dawei Hihgway in Ye’s Kyonlaung village on November 23, the locals said.
At around 8:00 am, a car carrying policemen along with a police station officer was gunned down and set on fire, killing three people on the spot.
At present, the situation near the scene of the incident is complicated, and the bodies have been taken to the hospital, and the weapons and ammunition in the car have been lost, the sources told Than Lwin Times.
After the incident, military council forces arrived, closed the road, and checked the commuters.
On his social media account, the Ye Balu resistance group’s leader claimed responsibility for attacking the police officers, including the police station officer, and that an M-16 gun had been confiscated.
