The Mawlamyine-Yangon domestic airline, which has been grounded for nearly two years, will resume operations twice a week starting December 5, the sources close to the Military Council told Than Lwin Times.
The Mawlamyine-Yangon domestic airline has suspended its flights due to a decrease in passengers amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Mawlamyine-Yangon airline will run its flights every Monday and Friday.
The airline now offers advance tickets for sale at the Mawlamyine Airport Office.
Currently, the Mawlamyine-Yangon journey takes at least 10 to 14 hours due to inspections by the X-ray machine installed near Nyaungkharshae between Mon State and Bago Region.
In the past, Mawlamyine Airlines used to run Mawlamyine-Yangon and Mawlamyine-Kawthoung flights only once a week on Mondays.
