Mawlamyine, December (18)
The Military Council issued an order to remove buildings, extensions, signboards, and shops encroaching on the road platform within 3 days under the ‘Open the Light Plan’ in Mon State’s Mawlamyine, the residents told Than Lwin Times.
The regime’s municipal authorities ordered the removal and cleaning of buildings encroaching on municipal areas from December 15 to December 17.
The authorities threatened that they would continue to take action in accordance with the existing law if the people failed to comply with the rules.
Residents of Mawlamyine said they are experiencing difficulties as well as losses as a result of the military council’s pressure to demolish the buildings in a short period of time.
On the other hand, the regime’s municipal authorities have cut down the big trees, small trees, and branches that cast shadows on the roads according to the “Open the Light Plan”.
Some power and wifi cables were damaged during the clearing of the trees, the residents said. News-Than Lwin Times
