Launglon, January (29)
On January 27, the Launglon People’s Defense Force (LLPDF) issued a final warning to non-CDM personnel working under the military council in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township to resign as soon as possible within a week.
The Launglon PDF stated in the statement that the non-CDM staff are the main pillars supporting the prolongation of the military council and that the CDMers are also facing various problems because of them.
Therefore, non-CDM staff are warned to stop cooperating with the military council and to leave the department as soon as possible by February 3, and if they continue to serve without following the last warning, they will suffer the consequences.
The information official of Launglon PDF told Than Lwin Times that this is the last warning to non-CDM staff and that more severe actions will be taken against them later.
More than 1,000 departmental staff across Launglon Township have joined the nonviolent Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), with the Department of Education reporting the highest number of participants.
Hundreds of thousands of civil servants across the country have joined the CDM in opposition to the military coup, and they are subjected to various forms of repression by the military council.
