Loikaw, January (29)

The Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) has warned residents to build bomb shelters as the junta army conducted airstrikes in Loikaw, Kayah State, for three days in a row when there was no fighting.

The military council has been carrying out aerial bombardment, conducting surveillance by drones, and flying near evacuation camps since January 22.

The KNDF instructed people not to take photos and videos of the fighter jets, not to sit and gather in other places, not to come out when they hear the sound of planes, and to build bunkers to protect against airstrikes by the military council.

When the military council conducted airstrikes in Loikaw for three consecutive days from January 22 to 24, when there was no firefight.

As a result, the homes of the residents in the eastern part of Loikaw were damaged, and the people of the Demoso refugee camp had to be urgently displaced.

Since the military coup in Myanmar, more than 200 people have been killed by airstrikes by the military regime, and there have been 180 airstrikes in Kayah State.
