A presentative of Mon Unity Party (MUP) for the junta was transferred from the military’s administration council to its central advisory body, according the announcement of regime.
Junta chief Min Aung Hlaing formed the central advisory body with 9 members, including Dr Banyar Aung Moe, in line with Section 419 of State Constitution.
The regime extended the State of Emergency for 6 months at the National Defense and Security Council meeting on 31 January on the second anniversary of coup as per Section 425 of State Constitution, with the reshuffle of junta administration members, including Dr Banyar Aung Moe, U Khin Maung Swe, U Thein Nyunt and Daw Aye Nu Sein who are leaders their political party, to the central advisory council.
In the first month of military coup in 2021, the junta invited MUP as a member of administration body. The party assigned Dr Banyar Aung Moe for Union level and Naing Layi Tama for the regional level.
The former contested seat for Ye Township constituency in 2020 General Election. As he was affiliated to the junta regime, the US government imposed sanction against him together with other junta leaders.
With much satisfaction for his energetic efforts in duties, the junta chief presented an honorary award to Dr Banyar Aung Moe on National Day event last year.
