The regime troops were ambushed on Ye-Thanbyuzayat road in Mon State’s Ye Township on February 2, the Taung Nyo People’s Guerrilla Force said.
At around 8 am on that day, the Taung Nyo People’s Guerrilla Force of Mon State attacked the regime troops hiding near Aung Thabyay village with snipers, killing one soldier and injuring three others.
In another incident, an eight-vehicle military convoy headed towards Thanbyuzayat was ambushed near Aye Gabar village, and one of the military vehicles was damaged, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, a military convoy of four vehicles traveling to Thanbyuzayat was attacked again between Kalainpadaw and Konmati village, killing two soldiers and destroying one car.
According to the locals, Ko Aung Naing Soe, a 29-year-old driver from Lamaing Town, was shot by junta soldiers on the road in Aye Gabar village and suffered a thigh injury.
The regime convoys are often attacked on the Ye-Thanbyuzayat highway, so the troops are deployed covertly.
