Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, stated that it is time to reach an agreement on political commitments as soon as possible, end suspicions of each other, and work together to overthrow the military regime.

The Acting President made this comment at the 7th meeting of the National Unity Government (NUG) held on the morning of February 21.

The Acting President urged everyone to reach an agreement as soon as possible on political commitments that would guarantee a future federal union and deal with the ethnic armed resistance groups as soon as possible.

The Acting President said, “The military regime is constantly attempting to create rifts between the revolutionary forces and the people, so we must be careful not to fall victim to the junta’s temptations.”

“The EU’s sanctions against the military council include banning the import of jet fuel and taking action against importers, as well as arms brokers and companies, and we appreciated EU’s effort for the sanctions on behalf of the Myanmar people,” Acting President Duwa Lashi La said.

Among those attending the meeting were Union Ministers and Deputy Ministers, including Acting President Duwa Lashi La and Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than.
