One police was killed and four others injured in a drone strike targeting a police station in Yin Nyein village in Mon State’s Paung Township, the sources familiar with law enforcement told Than Lwin Times.
The Special Operation Force’s (SOF) drone dropped two bombs on Yin Nyein police station around 1 pm on March 11.
The bombs landed in the police station, injuring three officers and two women from their families.
The injured were rushed to Thaton Public Hospital, and one of the critically wounded police officers died on March 12.
The Special Inspection Forces (SOF) said the attack was carried out as part of the Nan Hitek Aung operation.
On February 15, U Myint Yi, a militia leader and stooge of the military council, was shot and killed in Yin Nyein village.
