Four local homes destroyed in junta attack in Belin

Four homes were destroyed and a cow was killed by artillery shells launched by the junta into Wintarpan hamlet in Mon State’s Belin Township, according to the KNU Brigade 1.

Three heavy weapons were randomly shot from the junta and BGF’s joint camp in Wintarpan on March 11 at around 2:30 in the afternoon, causing explosions both inside and outside the village.

The shells fired by the military council destroyed four houses in Wintapan village; Yarma Kyaing, U-Tee Tharlay, Tee Hla Htwe, and U Doe Lon. One of the shells fell into U Maung’s rubber farm outside the village, damaging some rubber trees and injuring a cow.

The attack was carried out by a team led by LIB-410 Company Commander Myo Kyaw Myint under the 8th Military Operations Commands (MOC), the chairman of the KNU’s Alliance Supervisory Committee in Thatthong District told Than Lwin Times.

The mortar shells fired from the Koe Nawin camp exploded in Min Saw village, Belin Township, on February 7, damaging nine houses.

At least 50 local residences in seven villages, including Daukyat, Min Saw, and Wintarpan, were damaged during the military takeover in Beilin Township, according to reports from the KNU Thathong District.
