The resistance forces launched an attack on junta’s Phayame checkpoint near Maung Mae Shaung village in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei, killing three military personnel, reported the Cuckoo column.

The Phayarme checkpoint, where about 30 junta forces stationed, was attacked by a combined resistance force with heavy and light weapons around 1 pm on March 20.

The statement also said that three junta soldiers were killed and injured in the exchange of fire that lasted for almost an hour.

The injured or dead soldiers members were taken away by ambulance, and the exact number is not known, the official of the Cuckoo column told Than Lwin Times.

The Phayarme checkpoint is located on the Ye-Dawei highway and is the main gate on the Ye Waing-Maung Mae Shaung road, strictly checking passing vehicles and restricting the transportation of rice to villages.

Residents said that since March 23, the situation has returned to normal, with no more shootings.

On December 11, at least three soldiers were killed when revolutionary forces used heavy and light weapons to attack the Phayarme checkpoint.
