The combined force of Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) attacked the two junta outposts in the territory of KNU Brigade 2, Taungoo on March 27, the locals said.

The resistance forces launched an attack on the regime outpost on Taungoo-Thandaung (13 miles) in KNU Brigade 2 around 7:30 am on March 27, and the number of casualties is not yet known.

Meanwhile, the regime forces also clashed with the resistance forces near Htonbogyi and Bahone villages in Leiktho Township in KNU Brigade 2 territory with the help of air forces.

The junta used airstrikes and artillery fire in retaliation for the attack on its outposts, and the locals were fleeing the fighting, the residents said.

It is not yet known whether there were any injuries or deaths due to the fighting that took place in Leiktho Township. Due to the rising military situation, residents have been warned not to travel on the Phahon-Leiktho-Taungoo road these days.

The resistance forces reported rocket attacks targeting Bayinnaung military town in Thandainggyi, KNU Brigade 2, and many residents had fled their homes due to intense fighting on Thandaung (13-miles) and Thandaunggyi.
