Junta and BGF camps under constant attack in Belin

The camps of the military regime and aligned Border Guard Force (BGF) in Mon State’s Belin Township have been repeatedly attacked by KNLA joint troops, with heavy casualties on the junta side, an official from PDF-Thaton District told Than Lwin Times.

On May 17, the combined force of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) fired artillery shells at a junta unit stationed in a school in Daukyet Village, Belin Township.

About 15 soldiers were injured in that attack, and the junta artillery retaliated with heavy weapons, injuring a child and a woman from Daukyet village.

On May 18, the resistance forces used drones and heavy weapons to attack the BGF camps in Yin Ohn and Maelan villages of Belin, injuring three members of junta soldiers.

In addition, on May 19, there were more attacks on junta troops stationed near Belin tollgate, Belin Than Bridge checkpoint, and Zeetaw village, one soldier was killed and another injured.

According to the KNU’s statement, fierce fighting broke out between junta troops and KNLA joint forces on the 15th and 16th of May, with junta suffering heavy casualties.
