Ye, May (28)
The Infantry Battalion 583 based between Kyaung Ywar and Kan Hla villages in Mon State’s Ye Township was attacked by a rocket, Ye Guerilla Force told Than Lwin Times.
The Ye Guerrilla Force attacked the junta battalion using two 107-mm rockets and a drone.
The rocket exploded inside the military compound around 5:00 p.m. on May 26 and the deaths and damages are under investigation, said PDF official Lieutenant Kyan Yit.
After the battalion was attacked, the regime troops fired continuously with heavy weapons and small arms, but the guerrilla forces were able to retreat without being harmed.
A resident said that the military council battalion was attacked and that they heard the sound of gunfire, but did not know if there were any casualties.
Although the junta troops were attacked by their battalion, they did not go outside the battalion compound to conduct inspections or military operations.
The military council’s battalions in Ye Township are frequently attacked, with the junta suffering heavy casualties.
After the military council declared martial law in Ye Township on February 2, security has been tightened along with local orders.
