Thanbyuzayat, May (30)

The two trucks were shot and one was set ablaze on Mawlamyine-Ye Road near Aye Kabar village in Mon State’s Thanbyuzayat Township, locals told Than Lwin Times.

At 7:00 a.m. that day, two six-wheeled cargo trucks heading to Mawlamyine for Ye were attacked near Aye Kabar village.

After being attacked, the driver and his followers left the vehicles and ran away, and one of the vehicles was set on fire.

The trucks that were shot at were carrying parts of old motorcycles and were set on fire, causing the entire hood of the vehicle to burn.

Aye Gabar village is also the area where the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defense Force (PDF), as well as regime forces, conduct military operations.

Military lobbyists propagandized on their Telegram accounts that the attack on the trucks was carried out by the 4th Division of Battalion 27 of the KNLA Brigade 6.

Than Lwin Times contacted officials of the KNLA Brigade 6 for comments on this issue, but it went unanswered.

On May 26, a truck hit a mine on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway in Moe Kaung village, Thaton Township, killing the driver and his two followers and the other one was injured.
