Nyaung-U, 8 June
Thunderbolt hit Buu pagoda in ancient Bagan city of Nyaung-U district in Mandalay region on 6 June night, causing some damages at the pagoda.
An official of Bagan Ancient Research Division said that renovation will be made within one week.
The damage occurred top structures of the pagoda and a hole at the body.
Although the lighting conductor has been installed at the pagoda, the thunderbolt hit the pagoda, said the locals to Than Lwin Times.
Social media posts remarked that the military group has feared from this incident and they would carry out magical practices advised by astrologers.
