Three allied forces and the Pa-O National Federal Council (PNFC) issued their statements to welcome the establishment of Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC) as it is needed for the revolution to remove the military dictatorship.
The IEC was formed under political leadership and in line with policy guidelines of the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC), and at least 12 state affairs departments will be formed. It will engage with revolutionary forces and work in close collaboration with CRPH, NUCC and NUG that are striving for the establishment of a federal democratic union.
Three allied forces made a welcome statement on the establishment of IEC, wishing for fulfilling well-being of Karenni people, the council and the organization, and immediate implementation of military and political expectation.
The PNFC also made a congratulatory message to IEC, and emphasized it support to the IEC’s intention to change the existing situations of the country in coordination with all forces that are striving for development of a federal union.
The IEC is now comprised of six members– Chairperson Khu Oo Reh, Vice Chairperson Khun Bedu, General Secretary Khu Plu Reh, Secretary (1) Zue Padonmar, Secretary (2) Banya Khung Aung and Treasurer Maw Poe Myar.
The IEC will carry out executive functions of the interim state government through collective leadership, will ensure check and balance between legislative, executive and judicial branches, and to bring about peace and stability within Karenni State.
Acting President of National Unity Government Duwa Lashi La also remarked that the establishment of IEC will be a good support to development federal democracy in the future.
