Ye, June (15)

The People’s Defense Forces has warned the people to avoid unnecessary travel as the operation will soon step up in Mon State’s Ye Township, where martial law has been imposed.

The PDFs said that people have been asked not to travel because junta troops have been using civilian vehicles to travel in disguise along the Mawlamyine-Ye road.

Moreover, people are warned not to travel unnecessarily, to accept the inspection of the public defense forces, and for ambulances, not to drive more than 80 kilos.

In addition, Lieutenant Yan Naing, a PDF official, requested that emergency ambulances not enter and leave Mawlamyine at night.

The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 27 issued a warning letter on June 10 not to travel with regime members, not to carry military council-related materials in the vehicle, and to accept the inspection, as the KNLA will conduct control activities on the roads of Mon State and Tanintharyi Region.

The order will take effect on June 15, therefore individuals must abide by the guidelines, according to Saw Nael Da Htoo, battalion commander of KNLA Battalion 27.

Following the military took power, the junta battalions, outposts, and departmental offices in Ye Township were frequently attacked, and the military council, which suffered heavy losses, was forced to relinquish some of the land in that area.
