The allied resistance forces launched an attack on a junta checkpoint near Chaung Taung village in Mon State’s Ye Township, locals told Than Lwin Times.
On June 20, around 10:00 a.m., the joint revolutionary forces attacked the Ye Chaung Bridge checkpoint, where soldiers, police, and militia members were stationed.
The two sides exchanged fire for nearly 20 minutes, killing at least one soldier.
A resident was injured as the military council fired continuously at Chaung Taung village with small arms.
The injured man was sent to the public hospital by the social rescue team.
The leader of the Ye Balu group said on his social media account that four soldiers were killed in the attack.
Meanwhile, Daw San Myint Kywe, a military informer, was assassinated by the Ye Balu group at 11:00 a.m. that day near the clock tower in La Maing Town.
The Ye Balu group attacked the Ye Chaung Bridge checkpoint on January 3, and a clash that lasted over 45 minutes resulted in either injuries or deaths of the junta troops.
