U Ye Naing Aung, aka Math teacher U Ye Naing, member of the administration council of Kyaikto, Mon State, was shot dead on June 22, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
Math U Ye Naing was gunned down in front of the Kyaikpi monastery on his way to Kyaikpi village from Kyaikta town to teach students.
Math U Ye Naing received nine gunshot wounds in the neck, chest, and head and died on the spot.
The body of U Ye Naing was brought back to his home after the social rescue teams took him to the mortuary in Kyaikto Hospital.
The Kyaikto Revolutionary Force (KRF) claimed responsibility for the death of Math teacher U Ye Naing, a member of the junta’s administration council in Kyaikto.
The KFR said U Ye Naing was killed because he was arresting civilians and extorting money from them for various reasons.
After nearly two and a half years of the military coup, a member of the township-level administration council, which was formed by the military council, was shot and killed in Kyaikto.
