Win Ye, July (5)

Over a thousand of residents were forced to flee as junta forces fired into the villages in KNU-held Win Ye Township, reported the office of the deputy commander of No. 3 subdivision of Southern Command.

The villages of Khale Takon Daing, Pulain, Myohaung, and Nyein Chan Myaing in Win Ye Township of KNU were attakced by artillery shells every day from 318 Artillery based in Ahbit village in Mudon Township since June 28.

The regime forces launched artillery shells into nearby villages with heavy weapons every day, targeting civilians, forcing around 1000 residents of the villages such as Pulain, Khale Takon Daing, and Nan Thaing Tun were forced to flee to safety, said the statement.

The displaced people are struggling to make ends meet and are in need of urgent health care amid continuous daily rains.

The office of the deputy commander said that they are communicating with the Win Yaw Emergency Assistance Committee for IDPs (lower).

The allied KNLA forces engaged in battle with junta forces who entered Khale Takun Daing village in Win Ye Township, with the junta suffering losses, said the allied forces.
