Kayukkyi, July 8
There were three clashes in one day between the junta army and KNLA joint forces in KNU Brigade 3 of Kyaukkyi Township, with the junta suffering the most, reported Special Commando Battalion-Yoma Column 2.
On July 3, at around 9:00 a.m., the regime troops that arrived in Oakphyat Tarsone, Kyaukgyi township, Bago Region, were attacked by comrades from the Special Commando Battalion and KNLA joint forces, killing one junta soldier.
At around 5:00 p.m. that day, the combined forces of the KNLA attacked the junta unit in Oakphyat Tarsone, Kyaukgyi Township, for the second time, killing three soldiers and wounding two others.
Meanwhile, at 8:30 p.m., a battle broke out in front of the Karen Kya village school between the KNLA and regime forces advancing towards Thamankyin village, resulting in eight deaths and seven injuries on the junta side, but resistance fighters were able to attack successfully without being harmed.
Every day, battles between the junta army and KNLA joint forces take place in the Bago Region’s townships of Mone, Htantapin, Shwekyin, Phyu, Nyaunlaybin, and Kyaukkyi, according to military sources.
The suffered junta army targeted the civilians and fired heavy weapons into the villages in the 3rd Brigade of KNU territory, resulting in the injuries or deaths of civilians, including women and children, as well as destructions to residential buildings.
