Belin, July 8

A team that came to repair the damaged Kyoneik bridge on the Mawlamyine-Yangon highway was attacked by a drone around 7 a.m. on July 7, and some were injured, locals told Than Lwin Times.

On June 29, around 4:30 am, the allied resistance forces detonated Kyoneik bridge near Shwe Yaung Pya village on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road between Mon State’s Thaton and Belin Townships.

The coalition force of KNLA and PDF launched an attack by dropping drone-carrying bomb on the bridge repair team of junta troops, officials from the road department, and employees from Shwe Than Lwin Company.

The drone attack injured one military personnel and two company employees, and they were taken to Theinseik and Thaton District hospitals.

According to reports, the military council halted plans to construct a temporary bridge after the bridge repair team was attacked.

The attack on Kyoneik bridge was conducted to cut off the supply route of regime troops, the chairman of KNU’s Allied Oversight Committee told Than Lwin Times.

Yesterday, the KNLA/PDF joint forces attacked Belin-based Artillery and Kyaikto-based Division 44 with a drone, and the details of the situation are not yet known.
