As the military council is preparing for offensives in Gangaw district, Magway region, armed clashes are likely to break out anytime, said local PDF to Than Lwin Times.

The military has mobilized its troops to Htilin, Saw, Laungshe and Kyaukdu areas recently.

“About 300 soldiers and their supplies are seen in these areas. We are now monitoring their movements. Conflicts are expected to occur anytime,” said a PDF member.

About 30 military vehicles have arrived in Laungshe township, and this convoy is being used to transport their supplies to the frontlines at the border of Chin state.

During the fighting near Innpue village in Laungshe township on 15 July, heavy weapon shelling of the military destroyed almost all the houses in the village, said the locals to Than Lwin Times.

Independent organizations reported that the military is responsible for causalities of over 300 civilians in Magway region after the coup, and thousands of house were burnt down.
