Yangon, 22 July
Former chairman of All Burma Federation of Student Unions for Dawbon township, Yangon, was sentenced to additional 5 years in Section (3) of Counter-Terrorism Law.
Yangon East District passed the verdict against Nyan Win Htet on 20 July after he was been sentenced 8 years in Section 51 (c) of the same law in late December in 2022. The military arrested him on 30 June last year, and he is now serving the sentences in Insein prison, according to the report of ABFSU.
Neary 24,000 persons have been unlawfully arrested after the coup in Myanmar on 1 February 2021, according to the data of Assistance Association for Political Prisoners.
