Belin, July (25)

On the evening of July 23, the responsible officials that came to repair the mine-hit Kyoneik Bridge on the Mawlamyine-Yangon highway in Belin suffered another drone attack, locals told Than Lwin Times.

The allied revolutionary forces dropped drone-carrying bombs on the team that came to repair the Kyoneik Bridge on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway near Shwe Yaung Pya Village between Thaton Township and Belin Township of Mon State.

Locals reported that no one was injured in the bomb attack, but the workers had to immediately stop the construction of the temporary bridge.

The officials from the military regime, the road department, and Shwe Than Lwin Company are attempting to repair the temporary bridge, but the maintenance team has been attacked by drones seven times, including this one.

According to a worker on the site, the military council is pressuring the company to finish the temporary bridge as quickly as possible, and the workers are concerned about their safety.

On June 29, another attack on the group of junta troops and departmental officials that came to inspect the explosion of the Kyoneik Bridge left three people, including two staff, dead and 26 others injured.

The detonation of Kyoneik Bridge was intended to cut off the support route of the regime forces, said the chairman of KNU’s Allied Oversight Committee-Thaton.
