Kyauk Ta Ga, July (27)
At least seven civilians were killed after the junta invaded the villages in Bago Region’s Kyauk Ta Ga Township, according to the locals and resistance forces.
On July 19, when a junta column of nearly 400 troops entered Nanza village in Kyauk Ta Ga Township, a fierce battle broke out with the allied forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defense Forces (PDF).
The junta forces killed three people, including an elderly person and one with mental illness, and set seven houses on fire on July 20, reported Kyauk Ta Ga – PDF.
Moreover, the artillery shells fired by junta army landed into Thamin Inn Kon village in Kyauk Ta Ga on July 23, killing four members of a family, local sources told Than Lwin Times.
On the morning of July 26, when the allied revolutionary forces cleared the area of Nanza village, a clash broke out with regime forces, killing seven junta troops, according to a resistance fighter.
Targeted attacks and human rights violations committed by the junta army against civilians in Kyauk Ta Ga Township forced more than 5,000 local residents Nanza and Taung Khin village tracts to flee, according to resistance forces.
