Five family members were injured after an old tree fell on their house the railway station in Aukkyin Ward, Thaton Township, Mon state, amid heavy rains and high winds on 31 July night.


Two men and three women were injured in the incident, and they were taken to the Thaton District Public Hospital by the social rescue team, and none of them are in serious condition.


Another two houses were also damaged by trees toppled in Thaton’s Theingon Ward in the same evening, but no one suffered any injuries.
Heavy rain caused flooding in some villages, including Aukkyin, Nankhe, Theingonand Binhlaing district in Thatthong city.


Because of low pressure area, heavy rainfall may occur in southeastern Mon and Karen States and Tanintharyi Region, and the Department of Meteorology has issued a warning to be on alert for flooding and landslides.


Four people, including three children drowned after floods in Mon State during the third week of July, affecting thousands of local residents.
