Military lobbyists propagandize on the Telegram channel that 14 members of the People’s Defense Forces from the KNU Brigade 1, Thaton District defected to military council along with their weapons.
It reported said that 14 PDF members surrendered with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), a rocket, one anti-tank bullet, and one Italian-made 9mm pistol.
The military council said the 14 PDF comrades were reunited with their parents on 4 August morning at the Mawlamyine-based Southeast Command.
Ko Aye Min Tun, the spokesperson of Thaton District, told Than Lwin Times that no PDF member has defected from KNU-Thaton and that this is just propaganda.
The military council was only spreading propaganda by referring to the captured as PDF comrades.
In June, the military council reported that two members of PDF from Ye Township had surrendered to the Southeastern Command and returned them to their parents.
