Demoso, 9 August
Intense fighting has resumed between junta army and resistance forces in the western part of Demoso, Kayah State, allied revolutionary forces told Than Lwin Times.
On August 2, fighting broke out when resistance fighters used mines to attack three separate columns of regime soldiers invading western Demoso.
As fighting may intensify on the Dawnyaykhu road, the Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF) has warned people not to use the road.
The revolutionary forces said that some junta soldiers might have been killed in the ongoing fighting in the western part of Demoso, but the details of the situation are not yet known.
The military council has launched massive offensives in Kayah state, which is adjacent to its headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw, and their airstrikes and artillery fire have injured or killed the residents.
The National Unity Government (NUG) has claimed that people are being massacred by ground troops in addition to being subjected to air raids and artillery shelling.
