Kyainseikgyi, 15 September

Fighting has been raging on between the regime forces and the combined forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) in Kale Tagondaing village in Karen State’s Kyainseikgyi Township since 14 September morning, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

After crossing the Taung Nyo mountain range in Mon State’s Mudon and Taung Kalay village in Kyaikmaraw Township on September 12, the military column arrived in Kale Tagondaing village, where they were stationed at homes and schools.

The junta army and the KNLA joint forces have been fighting since yesterday morning, with the junta using helicopters to assist its forces.

Some local residents were trapped throughout the conflict, and their homes were also damaged.

According to sources close to the military council, the column that marched into Kale Tagondaing was there to reinforce the village police station and supply food.

The local people from Myohaugn, Kale, and Kale Lay villages in Kale Tagondaing village were fleeing before the battle as the junta column approached the village.

In July, fierce battle broke out between the KNLA and the regime troops that entered Kale Tagundaing village when the military council’s artillery shelling and airstrikes forced thousands of local people to flee.
