Thayetchaung, 24 September

Fighting has been raging between the junta army and the allied resistance forces around Padauk Gyi village in Tanintharyi Region’s Thayetchaung Township since 22 September.

A military column of more than 150 troops invaded Padauk Gyi village in Thayetchaung, triggering clashes between the two factions.

The battle continued until 23 September, and casualties have been reported on both sides, but Than Lwin Times has not yet been able to independently confirm it.

Five members of the regime forces had been killed on the first day of battle, according to local defense forces.

The fighting drove residents of Padauk Gyi and Lower Thayet villages to flee to orchards and shelters.

In late August, fighting broke out as junta troops advanced towards Ya Nge village in Thayetchaung.
