A total of 70 battles occurred in the KNU Brigade 6 area of Dooplaya District in August, killing hundreds of soldiers, according to the information center of KNU-Dooplaya District.
The Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karen Nationalities Defense Force (KNDO) clashed in 70 battles with the junta army in the territory of KNU Brigade 6 from August 1 to August 31.
The battle claimed 191 lives, including three captains, a sergeant, and a surveillance policeman, and injured 163 people, including a battalion commander and a deputy battalion commander, were injured in a month-long battle, according to the statement.
Seven comrades from the KNLA and KNDO sacrificed their lives for the sake of federal democracy, and 22 others were injured, according to the statement.
The combined resistance forces were able to destroy nine military vehicles used for military transportation and administrative operations.
It also said that KNLA/KNDO joint forces conduct daily raids, drone attacks, and sniper attacks on the camps of regime troops that invaded the territory of KNU Brigade 6 under the pretext of security.
With the increasing number of deaths and injuries, the soldiers at the bases were demoralized due to pressure from their superiors, and they abandoned the army and surrendered to the KNU and joint forces, according to the statement.
The KNU offers cash rewards to defectors who join the revolution along with ammunition, depending on the type of weapons they bring.
