Myeik, 5 October

More than ten PDF soldiers from the People’s Defense Forces lost their lives in the fighting between the two sides in Tanintharyi Region in September, according to the resistance fighters.

Last month, at least 50 clashes took place between the junta army and the allied People’s Defense Forces, resulting in more casualties on both sides.

According to a local Tanintharyi Times news agency, 16 PDF soldiers lost their lives and five were wounded, while 69 members of the regime troops and Pyu Saw Htee militia members were also killed in September.

Myeik District Battalion 1’s information official told Than Lwin Times that the PDF comrades were killed because they were captured and killed during battles and camp raids.

In addition, it is said that the PDFs were killed due to a lack of weapons and ammunition during the fighting between the two sides, the military’s new guerrilla system, and massive attacks.

On the one hand, the PDF forces are facing problems of insufficient weapons and ammo during the battles, and on the other hand, the forces are weak in cooperating with each other, according to the statements of the local defense forces.

The People’s Defense Forces lost ammunition, food, and equipment in the junta raids on three small and temporary camps in September.
