Laiza, 13 October

Three Brotherhood Alliance—Ta’ang National Liberation Army, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army and Arakan Army—issued a joint statement to condemn Myanmar military’s artillery attack on Mung Lai Hka IDP village near Laiza, Kachin state.

The joint statement said that the attack was a severe war crime, using heavy weapon shelling around 11: 30 pm on 9 October.

 The attack killed 28 civilians, including 10 children, and more than 60 were injured.

The statement said that the attack was intentionally targeted to an IDP camp, instead of military facility.

The military council also conducted artillery attacks to AA camp, killing one member and 10 injured.

The three-alliance group expressed their condolence for the deaths of innocent civilians in the severe war crime, and stated that they will stand with Kachin people and KIO/KIA for justice.

They also said that due to suffer losses in the fonts of politics and battles,  the military council is targeting civilians with artillery attacks and air strikes in the reprisal throughout the country, and these atrocities are crimes against humanity.
