Kyaikmaraw, 20 October
A shop owner was assassinated in Phet Tay Gon village in Mon State’s Kyaikmaraw Township around 4:00 p.m. on October 18, locals told Than Times.
U Maung Maung, 40, was in his shop when two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and shot him with a gun.
He received two bullet wounds in the chest and abdomen and died at the spot.
With the help of local residents, the body of U Maung Main was brought to Kyaikmaraw Hospital, and he was buried at 1:00 p.m. yesterday.
According to local residents, Ko Maung Maung’s father is a military veteran and his brother is a police officer, and the revolutionary forces warned him three times because he was an informant to the military council.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for killing Ko Maung Maung.
Besides, an administrator from Kaw Kalain village was shot dead in August, between Kaw Khalain and Kyar Inn Chaung villages in Kyaikmaraw Township,
