Kyaikto, 24 October
Attack of joint resistance forces on a police outpost in Kinmunchaung village, Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, incurred casualty at both sides, said the locals.
Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the People Defense Force (PDF) launched a raid on the police outpost where regime forces were deployed around 5 a.m. on October 22.
The armed clashes broke out nearly 40 minutes, and the junta army opened fire using heavy weapons, according to local residents.
The sources claimed that both sides were injured or killed in the attack, but the exact figure is unknown.
Pro-junta Telegram accounts reported that five comrades of the KNLA and PDF were killed in the attack on the police outpost.
Officials of the KNU and PDF-Thaton District have not yet responded to Than Lwin Times’ inquiries about the incident.
Following the coup, the police station in Kinmunchaung was attacked at least six times, resulting in casualties on both sides, and fire damaged to police facilities.
