A policeman was shot dead at a pub near Yangon-Mawlamyine highway in Win Ka Village, Belin Township, Mon State, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.

Zaw Naing Win, a policeman from Win Ka police station, was at the U Paung To pub on November 4 around 11 a.m. when two unknown men arrived on a motorcycle and shot him.

Policeman Zaw Naing Win was shot in the neck, thigh, and hand and died at the spot.

After Zaw Naing Win was killed, members of the regime forces came to inspect the body and transport it to Belin Township Public Hospital.

According to locals, the deceased policeman was transferred from Belin police station to Win Ka police station only about six months ago.

In September, Ko Ko Lwin, a surveillance officer from Paung police station, was shot dead on the Yangon-Mawlamyine highway in Mon State’s Paung Township.

Since the coup, regime forces were frequently targeted in Mon State, and the military council forbade its troops from leaving the police station alone.
