Three young people was hit and killed by a landmine blast as they were going to cut grass for cattle feed in Kin Mon Chone Village, Thaton Township of Mon State, locals told Than Lwin Times.
On November 5, around 3:00 p.m., three young people, including Maung Win Thike Tun, were killed in a landmine explosion while going to cut grass in the field east of the village.
Maung Win Thai Tun, three young people aged around 13, were killed on the spot after being injured by landmines.
According to locals, the three young people are relatives who were following the eldest Maung Win Thai Tun when they got caught in the accident.
The three youngsters were taken to Thein Seik District Hospital and were buried according to village tradition on the evening of November 6, according to local residents.
The Karen National Union (KNU), People’s Defense Forces (PDF), and regime forces usually conduct military activities in Kin Mon Chone village, where the landmine exploded.
According to data compiled by Than Lwin Times, at least 10 civilians were killed and nearly 30 injured in the landmine explosions in Mon State since the February coup.
