Myeik, 16 November
Military forces struck a landmine while advancing towards Tone Byaw Gyi village in Tanintharyi Region’s Myeik Township, resulting in heavy casualties, according to the statement of resistance forces.
The allied resistance forces attacked a 100-strong military column with a landmine near Mwayshaung Bridge around 8 a.m. on 15 November.
Five military personnel were killed and seven others injured in the blast, the spokesperson of the Tanintharyi-PDF told Than Lwin Times.
After being attacked by mines, the military column has been stationed around the Mwayshaung bridge, and tension remains high between the sides.
Residents are warned to be cautious as the revolutionary forces plan to ramp up military operations in Tanintharyi, Myeik, and Kyunsu townships.
On November 13, a battle broke out in Kyunsu Township between the junta army and the People’s Defense Forces, driving thousands of local residents to flee.
