Tanintharyi, 30 November

The Tanintharyi People’s Defense Force reported that it launched a deadly landmine attack on two military vehicles near Kanto village of Banlamut village tract around 9:30 a.m. on 29 November.

Following a landmine attack, allied resistance forces opened fire on two military vehicles leaving Myeik.

The attack led to a firefight between the two sides for nearly 30 minutes, with the junta army suffering heavy losses, the spokesperson of the Myeik-PDF told Than Lwin Times.

The junta casualties have been reported in the landmine attack, and the exact figure is still under investigation.

Following the incident, Tanintharyi-based regime troops fired artillery shells recklessly, but the resistance forces were able to retreat unharmed.

The attack was jointly launched by Tanintharyi PDF, Myeik-PDF, Palaw Shadow Guerilla, and Myeik-PDF’s Divisions 1 and 2.

The revolutionary forces have warned the people to be cautious as the fighting in Tanintharyi Township, where martial law has been declared, may escalate.

On November 9, the Tanintharyi-based 556 Light Infantry Battalion was attacked by the revolutionary joint forces.
