An informant for military security affairs was shot to death in Kyaikaw Ward in Thuwunnawaddy townn in Mon State’s Thaton, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
U Than Naing, a 50-year-old military security informant, was shot by two unknown gunmen as he was leaving a Mohingha shop on Taingkauk Road in Kyaikaw Ward at around 9:30 a.m. on November 30.
U Than Naing was wounded in the right chest and died on the way to Theinseik District Hospital.
According to locals, U Than Naing has been working as an informant for military security affairs for nearly 20 years, but Than Lwin Times was unable to independently confirm the report.
After U Than Naing was killed, soldiers, police officers, and military security personnel arrived to investigate, closing Theinseik-Winpa Road and Kyaikkaw-Thaton road and conducting searches.
On September 20, U Win Zaw, an informant for military security affairs, was shot and killed in the Ohntapin inter-village tract of Paung Township.
Since the first week of November in Thaton Township, the junta army has been firing artillery shells almost every night, raising concerns among local residents.
