Mawlamyine, 3 December
Four military targets, including the secret residence of the commander of Southeastern Command, and house of the junta-appointed Mon State Chief Minister, said the Mon local defense forces.
The attacks were carried out by the Shar Htoo Waw Technical Force (Alpha bats), Mon State People’s Defense Force, and the 6th battalion of the Karen National Defence Organization (KNDO) around 9:30 p.m. on 1 December.
The revolutionary forces attacked the secret residences of the commander of Southeastern Command, the junta-appointed Mon State Chief Minister, the police commissioner from Mon police force 15, and the residences of military pilots using Kmmikaze drone.
Saw Htoo Aung, the deputy in charge of Mon PDF, told Than Lwin Times that this attack mainly targeted the state-level officers of the military council, who are the main commanders in the fighting in Karen State’s Kawkayeik, Kyainseikkyi, and Kyaikmaraw townships.
The attacks reportedly injured some military personnel and damaged the buildings, but the details were unknown.
The explosions were heard in the attack on the secret residence of the commander of Southeastern Command, said locals.
One of the explosive devices landed near Ngan Tay golf course in the attack on the junta-appointed Chief Minister in Mawlamyine’s Ngan Tay Ward.
According to the military community, there was no damage in the attack on the commander of Southeastern Command because the military was able to intercept the drone-carrying bombs.
The Southeastern Command, a military council based in Mawlamyine, was attacked by a drone while celebrating its 62nd anniversary on November 16.
After the incident, the military council tightened security in Mawlamyine, patrolling around the town and conducting overnight guests, according to locals.
