Seikphyu, 8 December
Junta forces had been killed and injured in an attack by the joint groups of People’s Defense Forces on the police station of Kansoonma area in Seikphyu township, Pakokku district, Magway region, according to the report of Command of No.1 military region.
The revolutionary forces attacked the Kansoonma police station on the morning of 4 December, and announced that seven junta soldiers were killed and 15 were injured.
This camp is located in the middle of the military’s three weapon factories, and it is of military importance, a member of the resistance group told Than Lwin Times.
“During the battle, the military council fired artillery. Reinforcement columns were deployed, and the camp was not captured.” he said.
Twenty five policemen and soldiers were stationed at the Kansoonma area police station, and five soldiers and 2 policemen were killed in the battle, according to the Command of No. 1 Military Region, Magway.
The defense forces raided the camp and set fire to the police officer’s house, but they could not capture the camp as the military’s reinforcements arrived, a member of the resistance force said.
The attack was jointly conducted by Pakokku District No. (4,11,19) Battalion, Minbu District No. (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7) Battalion, Myanmar Defense Force (MDF) and Thakin Po Hla Kyi’s division.
