The regime troops patrolling near Chuang Mon village in Tanintharyi Region’s Bokepyin Township were ambushed, killing five soldiers and confiscating three weapons, the spokesperson of Bokepyin PDF told Than Lwin Times.
On the evening of July 3, a military unit of more than 20 troops was ambushed by the combined force of PDFs while patrolling in two civilian vehicles towards the Laynyar Mandaing Ward of Bokepyin.
They exchanged fire for almost an hour, with the junta force suffering losses.
According to the report of Bokepyin PDF, a total of five troops were killed: three from Bokepyin-based Light Infantry 599, one from Light Infantry Battalion 560, and one from Infantry Battalion 224.
Although the regime troops were ambushed, the military situation remained calm until July 5 without any raids, said the source from Bokepyin PDF.
On May 8, two members of the military regime were killed in an attack on the Laynyar-Banglar Bridge checkpoint near Bangalar Village in Bokepyin Township.
