A civilian was shot dead by the Launglon People’s Defense Forces (LLPDF) in Inn Zauk village in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township, locals confirmed to Than Lwin Times.
The LLPDF waited to inspect a vehicle returning from Dawei bringing supplies for the junta Air Defense unit (Labo Taung Camp) in Laounglon Township and the Mytel Tower camp on Sit Hlan Mountain on the afternoon of August 6.
The LLPDF forces chased the vehicle after it failed to stop, hit a resistance fighter, and ran away.
When the vehicle came to a halt in front of a billiard store near the crossroad of Inn zauk village, two people jumped out of it and fled. When the LLPDF forces chased and shot at them, a man sitting near the billiard table was hit by a bullet and died.
Ko Myo Zaw Lat, who died in the shooting, was from Launglon Township but lived in Dawei and was shot while visiting a friend in Inn Zauk village.
The Launglon Township People’s Defense Force (LLPDF) issued a statement saying they will take responsibility for the death of Ko Myo Zaw Lat and share their condolences with the family.
