A bomb exploded at a high school in Ye Phyu Township, Tanintharyi Region around 9 in the morning, the locals said.
The bomber struck shortly as students entered the exam rooms. No students were injured but they got into a panic, the residents said. It is not yet known which group is responsible for the attack.
April 1 is also the second day of the matriculation exam for English.
Following the bombing, military forces conducted a search in the area. There are 99 students taking the matriculation exam held by the military council at Ye Phyu High School.
