Rakhine, December 27
The Arakan Army will seriously take action against Myanmar military council which intentionally destroyed cultural heritages at the historic museum in Mrauk U, Rakhine state, according to the statement on December 25.
Light Infantry Battalion 540, 377, 378 and No. 31 Police Battalion conducted artillery shelling on the cultural museum and religious buildings which are not the military targets around 5 am on December 25, according to the statement.
The attacks destroyed invaluable historic items and three monasteries.
The AA said in the statement that Rakhine people are working to include their cultural values on the World Cultural Heritage List.
The statement also said that Rakhine will never forget war crimes of the military council on crimes against humanity and destroying cultural heritages of ethnic people, and that they will take retaliation against the military council.
