Demoso, 1 March
Heavy weapon shelling of junta troops killed two civilians and six injured in Demoso Township of Kayah state and Moebye and Pekon townships of Shan State, according to the local sources.
The military deliberately launched the attacks although there was no battle on 27 February night.
A woman in northern part of Demoso township was killed by the explosions, and a 120-mm motor fire dropped near a hut of an IDP family, causing the death of a 30-year old woman. A man and another woman were also seriously injured in the attack.
The junta’s artillery shells dropped near Dautamagyi and Daunyaykhu villages, injuring two men and one woman. A 75-year-old victim died of serious wound on the way to hospital.
Moreover, the junta base in Bawlakhe launched attacks using M-120 mmk motors to the eastern part of Demoso Township.
The attacks of military base in Pekon Township hit Moebye and western villages of Pekon Township, injuring a 27-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, according to the report of Moebye PDF on 28 February.
The airstrikes, offensive attacks of ground forces and heavy weapon shelling of the military have killed 430 civilians in Kayah State, according to the data of Karenni People Force.
