A fight broke out in Pala Town in Tanintharyi Region’s Palaw Township on the morning of May 4, and the town generator was hit by a heavy weapon, leaving the whole town without power.
Around 11:00 a.m. on that day, the combined force of PDFs attacked the junta troops stationed at the Pala police station, which lasted for more than an hour.
The mortar shells fired by regime troops exploded in the compound of the generator system, hitting three generators.
The destruction of generators has left Pala Town without electricity until the evening of May, and the power distribution company is preparing to restore it, the source said.
The PDF joint team launched an attack on the junta troops stationed in Palawkon village at around 6:00 a.m. on May 5, and the junta retaliated with heavy weapons.
The details of the situation are still under investigation, said an information official of Battalion 1, Myeik District.
On May 3, the combined force of PDFs attacked the junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee members stationed in Htamin Masar village, Palaw Township, killing four soldiers and injuring three.
